A fifth generation Californian, David spent his early years in Susanville working with his dad on commercial construction sites and maintaining their motel/apartment complex. Graduation from Lassen High was followed by four years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era.
After his time in the Air Force, David pursued a career in construction which led him to Texas. From there he became involved in every aspect of turnkey projects in the Middle East, South America, and the Caribbean, as well as a number domestic projects.
At the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war (1980), the company ceased operations in the Middle East and closed its US operations. David had studied accounting and managerial finance at McLennan Community College and Baylor University, opening the door to a Senior Vice President position in the Texas banking industry. In the five years that followed, David acquired valuable hands-on experience during what was a financially turbulent period for the region.
Following his stint in banking, David returned to construction and became president and COO of an international construction company. After enduring challenges brought on by the first Iraq war and Operation Desert Storm (1990), David was ready to get out of the Middle East. He stayed in the industry but accepted a Vice President and General Manager position with an Indiana-based company focused on domestic projects.
Ready for a change of scenery, all it took was a little coaxing from David’s father-in-law for him to accept the position of Chief Operating Officer of Safety Striping Service and return to California. In 1994 he was promoted to CEO. He and his late wife Louisa worked side-by-side, ultimately turning it into an unqualified success.
Residing in Visalia, David is now married to Sharon Preston. His daughter, Jennifer, and her husband are both career Marines. Whenever opportunity allows, David and Sharon enjoy motor home travel. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and sport shooting. He is a fan of NASCAR, the San Francisco Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. He is actively involved in his church.

Born in Littleton, Colorado and raised in California’s Central Valley, James joined Safety Striping in 2007 as an estimator. In 2017, James became a minority shareholder and now oversees the operations and sales divisions for the company. He also serves as the Corporate Secretary.
James is actively involved in the American Traffic Safety Services Association and has participated in state and national legislative fly-ins in Sacramento and Washington DC. He is a graduate of the ATSSA Leadership program.
James has a degree in pastoral ministry and is actively involved in his church. An avid baseball fan, James can often be found rooting for his beloved Chicago Cubs or managing the Safety Striping coed recreational softball team. He resides in Tulare with his wife Marilyn and their two children.

Born and raised in the Central Valley, Aaron earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Fresno Pacific University. He has substantial background in agriculture, sales, merchandising, and construction. His prior experience as a field laborer for Allen Engineering led him to Safety Striping. He joined us in 2014 as a Project Scheduler and has since moved into his current role as Field/Shop Manager. In addition to project scheduling, he is responsible for operational oversight on all field projects, field crews, and truck and equipment maintenance.
Aaron coordinates all operational components for the company to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner, keep client communications open and concise, and makes sure that the quality of work meets our uncompromising standards.
Aaron is an active participant with the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).
Aaron’s personal history and ongoing passion is in sports. He played a key role in Reedley College’s 2002 Junior College National Championship Team as running back and linebacker, and has been inducted into the class of 2012 Reedley College Athletic Hall of Fame. Aaron enjoys coaching his kid’s sports teams and prepping local football players. We’re fortunate to have him as a shortstop and outfielder for our company coed softball team. A Dinuba resident, Aaron handles the audio/video for his church. His idea of a great time is camping and four-wheeling with his wife and two kids at Oceano Dunes.

Demetrius, or D, as he’s known to us, grew up in Porterville and resides in Tulare. Originally trained as a diesel mechanic, D joined Safety Striping in 2013 as a field apprentice, moved up to foreman and is now part of our management team. His primary responsibilities include: project closures, invoice reconciliation and shop oversight, but given his career trajectory with Safety Striping, he has every reason to expect that list to grow.
Among his ongoing achievements, this motivated self-starter was awarded 2016 Apprentice of the Year for the Southern California Pavement Stripers Apprenticeship.
D, wife Jeanine, and their twin children enjoy backyard BBQ’s, camping and travel, with Disneyland topping the list of favorite vacation destinations. An avid sports fan, he enjoys coaching his sons’ baseball team.
